Sangath was registered under the Societies Act of 1860 in November 1996 and the registration has now been extended to the year 2010. Since we have bought our own  property in Raia and now have a permanent centre we have also changed the registered address of the society  to House No. 1272/A, Santemol, Sonarwaddo, Raia, Salcette-Goa 403 720

Sangath is administered through 4 bodies. The General Body of 35 members meet once a year when the Chairperson presents the annual report and the annual audited accounts on behalf of the Managing Committee. The General Body is drawn from members of the local community concerned with child and adolescent health, public health issues, social issues and parents or families of clients using the clinical services.

The Coordinators Group: The coordinators group comprises of individuals from Sangath in leadership positions. Sangath has various projects at different stages of development, each headed by a project coordinator responsible for the implementation of activities and generally managing staff and handling independent budgets. The most recent composition of this group includes Dr. Neerja Chowdhary, Achira Chatterjee, Teddy Andrews, Rosie Mayston, Sulochana Pednekar, Preetam Barros, Prachi Khandeparkar, Smita Naik, Pranjali Rodrigues, Percy Cardozo, Madhumitha Balaji, Girish Sawaikar, Dr. Subramanya Nayak and Yvonne Goncalves. The representatives of the financial and administrative teams are also members of this group which meets every two months to review projects and activities and plan for the next month. The Coordinators, Administrator, Systems Administrator and Accountant submit monthly reports to the Managing Committee with details of key activities undertaken by the project, future activities planned along with estimated expenses, new staff hired, visitors to the organisation, trainings & workshops that staff have attended or would like to attend etc.

The Staff: In the past two years, Sangath has had a maximum of 90 staff, including consultants. The entire Sangath team meets once a month to discuss day-to-day issues and get updates on the progress of various projects. The staff includes medical doctors, clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, paediatrician, gynaecologist, counselors, social workers, teachers, researchers, an accounts officer, office assistants and domestic staff.
